Baltimore RavenslinebackerJaylon Fergusondied last month from the effects of cocaine and fentanyl, a representative of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore confirms to PEOPLE.
According to the examiner’s office, Ferguson died of “the combined effects of fentanyl and cocaine,” and his death has been ruled accidental.

A lightening strike may have been the cause of a fire that destroyed the Orange, Texas home ofEarl Thomasearly Thursday evening, authorities said.
The NFL star, 33, was at home with two of his family members when the fire started according to Orange Fire Department Deputy Chief Payton Smith, who toldFOX4 Beaumontthat the blaze sparked around 5 p.m. local time.
Thomas was alerted to the trouble when he heard a loud “popping sound” resembling a lightening strike, Smith said to the outlet.

The NFL is growing concerned about a possible international crime ring targeting its players.
A source close to the situation told NFL inside Tom Pelissero that the transnational crime ring is “legit” and been “focused on” NBA and NFL players “over the last three weeks.
