Owning a dog may help lower your risk of dementia, a new study says.
In the study – publishedin the journal JAMA Network Open– 7,945 participants who were 50 years and older were evaluated to see if having a dog would also help their brain health. The findings were promising for pet owners.
From the data, researchers found that pet ownership is associated with a lower chance of memory loss and a decline in cognitive skills for people living alone.

In an interview withClassic Rock, the rock legend, 73, looked back on recording his former band Black Sabbath’s fourth album,Vol. 4, which was released in September 1972.
“We lived together in a house in Los Angeles, rehearsed there, did loads of drugs and made an album: simple,” Osbourne said. “Those were good times.

A Pennsylvania woman who died shortly after giving birth is being remembered for her passion as both a mom and a teacher.
Jennifer’s husband Jesse Krasnapaid tributeto his “amazing wife” in a post shared Tuesday on Facebook. He said “nothing got in the way of her being the best mom she could be.”
“She loved being a mom,” Jesse wrote. “Seeing her smile getting to hold Cade for the first time is something that makes me happy.

The Pennsylvaniaman accused of decapitating his fatherand displaying the severed head in a disturbing video posted on YouTube — and later removed — allegedly also shot his father with a gun he bought the previous day, according to authorities.
Bucks County District Attorney Jen Schorn said at a Friday press conference that Justin Mohn allegedly bought a 9mm handgun on Monday, just one day before the killing at the Levittown home he shared with his parents.
