RockerSteve Perry’s latest release features a very special guest: his late father Ray.
Perry — who used technology to extract his dad’s voice off a cassette tape, then combined it with his own recording — was estranged from his father, and said in a statement that Ray used to sing him Darin’s song as a child.
“Though my father is no longer with me, he is with me on this song, and we are together once again, doing something we always dreamed about doing,” Perry tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The praise forSteven Spielberg’s latest film continues.
The acclaimed director’s semi-autobiographical film,The Fabelmans, took home theToronto International Film Festival’s top prize over the weekend winning the People’s Choice award.
“As I said on stage the other night, ‘Above all, I’m glad I brought this film to Toronto!,'” Spielberg, 75, said in a statement provided to PEOPLE. “This is the most personal film I’ve ever made, and the warm reception from everyone in Toronto made my first visit to TIFF so intimate and personal for me and my entire Fabelman family.
