The body of a woman who tried to save her dog from an icy river was discovered in Anchorage, Alaska, on Sunday, reportsAnchorage Daily News,Alaska News Sourceand theDaily Mail.
Amanda Richmond Rogers, 45, went for a walk along North Fork Eagle River with her husband, Dr. Brian Rogers, in celebration of their 18th wedding anniversary on Dec. 23, 2023. During their walk, one of their two dogs, Groot, fell through the ice on the river, and Richmond Rogers jumped in to save their dog.

A Wisconsin man convicted of sexual assault and kidnapping who’d been a fugitive for nearly three decades has been caught — allegedly after he gave officers the name of a dead man.
Subsequently, the officer is heard telling Hartleroad, “Alright brother, time to be honest with me, OK? So the info you give me comes back to a dead guy.

The FBI said the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office interviewed the boy and his father, but that there was no probable cause for further action.
In the footage, police arrive at the home of the suspect’s father, Colin Gray, and speak to him first. The father tells police there are weapons in the house but that they aren’t loaded, adding that he and his son enjoy shooting and that his son had recently shot his first deer.
