Angela Álvareznever thought her songs would reach the masses.
A lifelong singer, the 95-year-old musician wrote dozens of songs over the last few decades, often playing them for friends and family. But she never put them out into the world — until now.
Thanks to the help of her grandson, Álvarez finally released her self-titled debut album last year, and is now up for best new artist at the upcoming LatinGrammy Awards.

Brooke Krupiczewiczfirst met her husband Noah in a youth group for the Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan, school district around 2017 — or so she thought.
The Michigan natives had grown up in neighboring towns near Grand Rapids: Brooke, 24, was from Granville, and Noah, 25, was raised just south in Byron Center. They began dating while they were seniors in high school and, a few years later, got married.
